BOB MANN WOODS, IL
Bob Mann Woods, La Grange Park, IL
July 14, 2018
While one Parks Project crew put in work in Washington, D.C. at Rock Creek Park, another crew was volunteering in the Chicago area at Bob Mann Woods. Despite rainy weather, fierce mosquitos, and hard work, our hardy crew of 18 volunteers removed about 2,000 lbs of invasive catalpa trees. By removing these species, we can make room for native species to return. This event was hosted by Forest Preserve District of Cook County, and was facilitated the Shedd Aquarium. Our leaders Hilary and Joe from the Shedd Aquarium kept everyone motivated despite the weather!
