Thanks to everyone who was able to celebrate our public lands on National Public Lands Day at LA State Historic Park!

Our project was weeding and mulching, with the LA State Historic Park "weed warriors". We cleared crabgrass and matted sandmat from around the citrus grove area, ultimately removing 3-4 large bags of weeds in total.

We then spread mulch around the area to make it more difficult for weeds to grow back. This is an area that has been overgoing a transition to native plants, so this will help them thrive and ready nearby areas for new plantings later this fall and winter.
