Tennessee Valley – Parks Project

JUNE 2, 2018

The first Saturday of June is National Trails Day, a day of both celebration and stewardship of the hiking trails we use and love. On June 2, 2018, we joined forces with the National Park Service, the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy, and REI to perform some trail and habitat restoration work in Tennessee Valley, a section of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area.

Our group of 21 volunteers and 8 staff members split up into two groups: one for trail work, and one for habitat restoration. The trail crew installed 15 split-rail fence posts to repair 150 ft of fencing. The restoration crew removed scotch broom to make more room for native species.
