On Sunday, November 17, a crew of 23 volunteers braved cold weather to do some much-needed habitat restoration work and beach clean-up at Kathy Osterman (also known as Hollywood/Ardmore) Beach in Chicago.

The crew planted 1,000 marram grass plugs along the sand walls and in preservation areas between the beach and our lakefront path to preserve some dune areas. We also spread a variety of seeds and picked up a bunch of micro plastics.

This event was hosted by the Chicago Park District and organized by Field Crew Leader Stacy Hodge of Chicago, IL.
