On March 30, 2019, a crew of 21 volunteers went out to the Ridgeline Trail in Spencer Butte Park in South Eugene. Their mission: repair storm damage along the trail, including clearing downed trees, repairing trail tread, and constructing a rock wall. The crew used shovels, rakes, pruners, hand saws, Pulaskis, hoes, a McLeod and even a machete. Everyone contributed to the cause and our efforts were graciously acknowledged by the many hikers out on a sunny Saturday in the Pacific Northwest. To cap it all off, back at the trailhead the crew conversed over some snacks, sweets and refreshments.

The event was hosted by the City of Eugene Parks and Open Space. Learn more about the organization and see more volunteer opportunities on their website HERE.

The event was featured on the local news station channel 16 KTMR.

This Volunteer Alliance event was coordinated by Field Crew leader Nate Z in Eugene.
