On May 23, 2015, we joined the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy, Prooflab, and Goodpeople in Tennessee Valley for some trail restoration. Tennessee Valley is Marin Headland's most popular trailhead and is heavily used by hikers, bikers and equestrians alike. The trail curves along the valley floor to the ocean and is an easy 4 mile out-and-back hike, and a great place to head for an afternoon picnic. The Tennessee Valley lower trail has sunk from the combination of lots of use and its wet location. Our goal was to fill in the trail to ensure it doesn't pool up with water and wash away. We loaded in 10 cubic yards of shale/dirt fill by wheelbarrow to raise and level the trail. This awesome group represented the largest age spread in the history of our volunteer days as we had an 8yr old and a 70yr old, too!
