Adventure and Conservation: Parks Project's Sequoia Retreat

Imagine waking up to the gentle rustle of leaves and the sweet melody of birdsong, surrounded by towering giants that have witnessed centuries of history. This August, the team at Parks Project embarked on a journey like no other, venturing deep into the heart of Sequoia National Park for our annual retreat. This wasn't just any retreat; it was a unique blend of adventure, connection, and purpose.

Sequoia National Park, known for its awe-inspiring groves of giant sequoias and pristine wilderness, served as the backdrop for an experience that left us all touched. While we reveled in the beauty of Round Meadow, our mission as always was to leave it better than we found it. With the help of park rangers, we were able to do exactly that.

With some rolled up sleeves, we set out to tackle a pressing ecological challenge in the area - the invasive orchard grass that has taken root in Round Meadow.

This photo story outlines a day of collective learnings and fulfillment in preserving the very landscapes that make our work at Parks Project so meaningful.
